Motorola debuts the Moto Selfie Stick: Wood, Leather and Work of Art

Selfie sticks are pretty straightforward devices which attach your phone at the end to take a selfie. However there are many elaborate sticks with Bluetooth controls that let you take photos remotely instead of having to rely on a timer, but it looks like that isn’t enough for Motorola as they have recently debuted the Moto Selfie Stick.

The Moto Selfie Stick isn't like the other sticks out there. It is assembled by hand and comes in several variants, including one that's made out of real wood and is dressed in hand-stitched leather. As Motorola puts it, "a selfie stick is not just an accessory, it's an extension of who you are," that's why it's crafting these products as works of art.

Motorola also make an ad for their Moto selfie stick which is pretty elaborate and well produced, making it seem like Motorola is truly selling a premium product. A carpenter's workshop, lit in soft amber tones, provides the scene for a moustachioed narrator. "To me, the selfie stick is not just an accessory," he says thoughtfully, "it's an extension of who you are.". In another, more modernly austere studio, a log is tenderly crafted into a selfie stick, a process which its young creator describes as being akin to "when the sun turns the rain into a rainbow." The passion and emotion in his words are felt.
