Microsoft Xbox One gets official price cut

Microsoft has slashed the price of its new-generation gaming console, Xbox One from Rs 39,990 to Rs 34,990, just ahead of the E3 trade show. 

The Xbox One bundles include the Xbox One console — which features a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi, one Xbox One Wireless Controller and a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members. 

The console allows users to watch live TV from their cable, telco or satellite set-top box through Xbox One with HDMI-pass through. 

Other features that the Xbox One offers in India include Game DVR/Upload that lets gamers capture and record game moments and Upload Studio for editing and sharing clips with the community. Users can also capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay and then share clips with friends. 

It includes a version of Skype specially designed for Xbox One, Internet Explorer browser and OneDrive, in addition to Twitch, Machinima and IGN. 

Microsoft to launch Lumia 640XL with IRIS scanning tech and Win10

U.S based company Microsoft is rumourd to launch flagship device called Lumia 940XL which will pack iris scanning tech for the security of your data.

The Lumia 940 XL is said to pack a 5.7-inch QHD (2560x1440) display powered by octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 20MP rear camera, 5MP front snapper, microSD slot and a slim, metallic unibody design.

That would see it comfortably compete with the Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z3+.

The report also suggests the 940 XL will pack iris scanning tech (for what we assume will be added security) and a USB-C slot, allowing you to plug your charger in either way, much like Apple's Lightning connector.

It's also expected to arrive with Windows 10 on board. The main reason we've not seen any top-flight handsets running Microsoft's software over the past few months is because manufacturers are waiting for the new version to arrive.

There's no word on when the handset may launch, but with Microsoft confirming Windows 10 will land on July 29, a smartphone launch could well coincide.

Intel and WPG back with the palm sized PC starting at Rs.18,999

California based Intel and Taiwan-headquartered WPG Holdings have launched NuPC, an extremely portable PC powered by the Intel Core i3 or the Intel Celeron processor. 

The compact PC, based on Intel NUC, is targeted at business as well as home consumers and can be used in kiosks or for digital signage displays and other spaces in which a small computer is required. The PCs are assembled in India. 

The NuPC takes up a 4x4-inch (117x112mm) footprint on a desk and is 35mm thick.Powered by Intel Core i3 processor backed by 2GB/4GB of RAM with 500GB/1TB storage variants priced at Rs 29,999 and Rs 32,999, respectively. The PC features Intel HD Audio 1, two USB 3.0 ports at the front, two USB 3.0 ports at the back and two USB 2.0 ports. 

The Intel Celeron-powered NuPC comes in 2GB RAM, 500GB storage and 4GB RAM, 1TB storage variants priced at Rs 18,999 and Rs 21,999, respectively. It features a single USB 3.0 port at the front and two USB 2.0 ports at the back. 

The NuPc runs Windows 8.1 with Bing.

Micosoft's newly launched website tries to guess your age and gender

Microsoft announced How-Old.net, a website to guess how old you are, at the Microsoft Build 2015 developer conference.

By the idea of this new site, Microsoft trying to show off what it's working on behind the scenes, with smarter applications that can use facial recognition and huge amounts of data to make intelligent guesses. Supposedly, the app learns over time from the data everyone uploads, improving and becoming more accurate as more people use it.

How-Old.net isn't highly accurate, but it's close, and it's getting better. It thinks the writer is 23 years old, which is a few years shy of his real age of 130 (or 28 if you're a stickler for the truth).

Using How-Old is easy. You can upload your own photos, or choose from a Bing Image Search.

Microsoft launches its entry level smartphone in India: Lumia 430

Adding another budget level smartphone, Microsoft also wants to get spot in the entry level smartphone market with Android. Microsoft announced all new Lumia 430 in India and priced at Rs. 5,999. The smartphone available for purchase from today nd will be available in Bright Orange nd Black colors.

The phone was first announced in March at $70 (approx Rs. 4400). Lumia 430 was not the only Windows phone available in this price. Microsoft previous year launched Lumia 630 with better specs was available for purchase at just Rs. 4,799 on Snapdeal.

The new Lumia 430 sports a 4 inch (480x800) IPS display with the pixel density of 235ppi. The dual sim smartphone is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core Cortex A7 chip driven by Adreno 302 graphics backed by 1GB Ram. The phone sports 2MP rear and VGA front camera.

The phone runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1 and will surely get Windows 10 upgrade when available. The phone comes with 8GB internal storage which is further expandable upto 128GB. It is backed by 1500mAh of battery. In the terms of  connectivity, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio  and USB  2.0.

Microsoft also offering 20GB of cloud Sky drive storage like other Lumia series.

Office Lens app now available for iOS and Android which turns your phone into powerful sacnner

Yesterday Microsoft has launched its most popular app: Office Lens which lets people take photos of a document and turn it into a editable file, Apple iPhone and Google's Android.

The app is  free for both iOS and Android devices.

Bringing the app to iOS and Android is the latest sign of Microsoft's new strategy of putting its best software on as many devices as possible, regardless of whether they are running Windows.

The experience is similar as the Windows phone app if you've tried the app before -- all you have to do is get a good snapshot, and the app will convert the output into OneNote-friendly text and image formats. You can save an image as a Word file, PowerPoint presentation or PDF file, and uses optical character recognition to make the text searchable and ready for editing.

Microsoft soon let Xiaomi users to try their new Windows 10 OS

Microsoft corporation is expanding its OS by offering free Windows 10 upgrade to biggest Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi which is currently running Android operating system

Microsoft also said in their post that "As part of the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft will partner with Xiaomi to offer Windows 10 free downloads to a select group of Xiaomi Mi 4 users. Xiaomi Mi 4 users will get the ability to flash their phones with the new Windows 10 OS and provide feedback to Xiaomi and Microsoft on their experience. This partnership will allow Xiaomi and Microsoft to get direct user feedback and continue to improve the experience for China. Microsoft is thrilled to see Xiaomi embracing Windows 10 and offering this great value to their customers. We're excited to see the feedback we receive from this audience." 

Few Xiaomi Mi4 users will get chance to try the latest Windows 10 operating system on their device. You can see how the OS look like.

The users will need to download and install the update package available on the Xiaomi's forums in the next few weeks. But users have to lose out Android on their smartphones as the ROM doesn't support dual boot option.
This new strategy may help Microsoft to reach out new users without buying a new Window device.
